Our fast Acorn install helps Arthritis sufferer

Fifty years ago, 87-year-old Florence Bramall vowed she would never struggle to climb the stairs. Touched by years spent helping her mother manoeuvre her father upstairs, she knew she didn't want to suffer in the same way or be dependent on anyone for mobility in later life.

In 1995, Mrs Bramall was diagnosed with arthritis and occasionally slept downstairs when it was too painful to get up to bed each night. Then a life changing fall last summer left Mrs Bramall with a broken bone below her coccyx and she remembered the promise she had made herself.

"The fall meant suddenly I had no way of getting upstairs independently and I immediately remembered my father and my vow to keep myself mobile, she explained. I enlisted the support of my niece and we knew a stairlift was the best way of keeping my independence. Living close to Acorn Stairlifts in Steeton, we arranged for a consultation and survey."

Acorn installed Mrs Bramall's stairlift within three days of being contacted, ensuring a quick and efficient service so it was ready for her return home from respite care

As well as a faster install than others, FastTrack can handle complex stairs. Using its clever modular rail system, it's installed from a clever dedicated mobile workshop.

"I thank God every night for my stairlift. It gives me the freedom and independence my father never had, said Mrs Bramall. "In my situation having a stairlift at home is as luxurious and impressive as having a Rolls Royce in the house!"
