Mr Alan Parry of Keighley Town Council
I knew who to call to try and get some help for them

"When I heard that a local resident was due to come out of Sue Ryder's Manorlands hospice in two days time, and urgently needed a stairlift, I knew who to call to try and get some help for them," said Keighley Town Council special projects co-ordinator Alan Parry.

Acorn Stairlifts, in Steeton, is one of the largest stairlift suppliers in the world and claims to have the fastest installation service in the UK.

"I called Acorn and the following day a surveyor was checking that a stairlift would fit the staircase. The day after that, a brand new stairlift was fitted - in time for the patient to come home to her three children," said Mr Parry

"I am delighted Acorn was able to come to this lady's aid, and at such short notice. It is an excellent example of Keighley businesses helping local people."

Acorn's Company Secretary Dave Belmont said: "We pride ourselves on installing quality stairlifts at sensible prices - quickly. When the Town Council asked for our help, we were very happy to assist. A stairlift can make a huge difference to people with mobility problems, so speed is often very important."
