Acorn, along with 36 other local employers were busy searching for new potential employees at the Keighley and Ilkley Career and Jobs Fair last week. The fair, which Acorn sponsored, was organised and opened by Keighley MP Kris Hopkins, in partnership with Keighley College.
Kate Gledhill, Group HR Manager for Acorn said: “This is the second year we’ve been involved with this jobs fair, and hopefully we’ll be meeting lots of potential candidates. While we’re not a big corporate name, it helps that we’re based locally because many people will already know someone who works for us, or will have seen our vehicles out and about.”
As well as employers’ stands, the jobs fair also included a number of talks and training sessions on subjects such as CV writing, interview skills, and apprenticeships.
Recent expansion at Acorn has resulted in the company currently having 35 vacancies in roles ranging from sales and customer service to installation, production and credit control.
The vacancies are largely down to the company’s success in selling its product internationally. It has doubled its exports globally in the last four years, and during this time Acorn's exports to North America have trebled.
