Acorn proud to be focus of EEF campaign

12:00am | & News

Acorn Stairlifts is delighted to feature in a new promotional campaign by EEF, the UK’s national organisation for manufacturers.

Highly respected throughout British manufacturing industry, EEF works to support businesses and champion manufacturing and engineering in the UK and the EU. It aims to help British manufacturing thrive, innovate and compete successfully at both local and international levels.

This week (October 24-28) EEF is carrying out a “social media week” campaign, highlighting and celebrating a selection of its member companies and the work they do in a series of Twitter tweets and LinkedIn posts.

Earlier this year Acorn Stairlifts – which manufactures more than 60,000 stairlifts per year at its factories in Yorkshire and Scotland – enjoyed a rare triple success at the EEF Future Manufacturing Awards. The company was named runner-up in the Business Growth Award, recognising its continued growth in overseas markets, and winner of the Outstanding Export Award.

The ultimate accolade came when Acorn was named the awards’ Winner of Winners, a title awarded to the most outstanding company out of all the national category winners. This made it an obvious choice to be featured in EEF’s social media week campaign.

The portion of the campaign focusing on Acorn Stairlifts (pictured) shows a photograph of company secretary Dave Belmont receiving the Winner of Winners certificate from awards compere Wendy Gibson. It also features a quote from Mr Belmont, saying: “Acorn only joined the EEF earlier this year, but now that we are members we realise what we have been missing.

“There is a great community of people and companies, both friendly and helpful. Common problems can be discussed and new contacts can be made. It's great to see the EEF taking such a public lead in championing the interests of British manufacturing."
