Tomorrow is 'Buy British Day'

12:00am | & News

The third annual "Buy British Day" is tomorrow, Saturday October 1st.

If you're thinking of buying anything tomorrow, why not see if it's available from a British producer? That's the message fromBest of Britannia (BOB), the organisation which launched Buy British Day in 2014 and has seen the annual event grow ever since.

A spokesman for BOB explained: "We are determined to focus consumer attention on the provenance and quality of the huge range of amazing products Britain still produces.
"Ironically the Made in Britain stamp has long been seen as a badge of quality overseas, but less so at home. Buy British Day has been launched to try and change that.  The BOB team firmly believe that the provenance of what we buy is increasingly important to the UK as well as to the international consumer."

Another partner supporting Buy British Day is the Made in Britain campaign, which supports and promotes British manufacturing, enabling consumers and trade buyers in the UK and abroad to easily identify British-made products.

Acorn Stairlifts is proud to be a Made in Britain member and the first stairlift manufacturer to be accepted into the number one marque of British manufacturing. All our stairlifts are made in our factories in West Yorkshire and Scotland to the highest standards or world-renowned British engineering and designed.

From there they are exported to more than 80 countries, flying the flag for British manufacturing around the globe. Somewhere in the world an Acorn Stairlift is installed every eight minutes. Of course, our stairlifts are also installed in homes throughout the UK, which still accounts for a third of our total worldwide sales.

Because we now manufacture more than 60,000 stairlifts per year, the savings we make from such economies of scale can be passed on to our customers. And because we sell direct to the customers, with no 'middle men' taking a cut, our stairlifts are more affordable than ever.

So if you're considering buying a stairlift and want to buy the best quality for the best value price, then buy British, buy Acorn.
